How to Write
I think that if you’re doing something interesting in life it’s important to document the journey. The way I’ve been doing this for the past ~year is writing. The key to writing well is to not make it _some big thing_ that you have to do every day to stay on top of things, like a chore. It should be fun, laid back, and easy for you to do on your free time. Often times when I’m writing this blog, it’s at the end of the day or a work session, when I have an idea in the back of my head that I feel is worth sharing. The key is having insights that might be interesting to other people in your community.
The way I’ve been writing this blog is mostly a stream of thought. (Sorry) but these blog posts are *not* polished. The opposite is actually true to make it more authentic. They can be short, or long, doesn’t matter. The only thing that matters is communicating the ideas to the people reading. It should fit into my schedule, which typically means it only takes 15-30 minutes to write a post, not hours of editing.
I think one thing I’ve accepted recently is that it’s ok for posts to be short, as long as they communicate the core idea. This post probably only took me 10 minutes, and now I’m done (and clicking “share“).
