Thrive is a mix of software engineering consultancy, holding company for high-growth software projects, and angel fund. When I was deciding what to do next, I knew two things: I didn’t want to stop building, and I wanted to continue doing a hybrid of building and investing within my network.
Thrive is my vehicle for doing that. It’s starting out primarily as a high-end software engineering consultancy where we help fast-growing Silicon Valley tech companies with their engineering, both by building and also by helping optimize processes.
In my extra time, I’m still angel investing and building various SaaS and crypto side projects that are designed to be profitable, revenue-generating businesses. The Thrive entity allows me to do that with a business bank account and infrastructure in place to support it.
The beauty of Thrive as an outlet for me is that everything is done from a place of profitability. We are already profitable, and it will stay that way. Having infinite runway is actually a significant advantage as a builder, rather than running a money-losing venture-backed business.
Consulting Services
I’m offering the following consulting services:
Project Based Consulting
Good for fixed-term projects and experiments. Typical engagement looks something like 2-6 weeks depending on the scope. We will do some select smaller projects depending on the team or company.
Embedded Team Member
Sometimes we will embed with your team to help contribute code to your core codebase. We do this selectively as it's usually best to hire full-time engineers to do this work. In addition to the code we write, we work with your team to improve shipping speed and quality while optimizing processes.
Technical Interviewing and Screening
Effectively screen technical engineering candidates. We've hired engineers at places like Coinbase, startups, and everywhere in between.
CTO as a Service
Longer-term embedded role where we step in as acting CTO of the company. Usually the goal is to build out the initial V1 of the product and hire the technical team that will take the product forward.
