The Moderate Stack Rank of Who to Vote for + Other Opinions that Will Get Me in Trouble
The top: Whitmer etc (some middle, battle-ground state democrat) >= John Kasich, Mitt Romney (middle republican)
Then, because those aren't choices, it goes: no one, everyone else it too radical, plus my vote in Cali and NY count for nothing anyways
Then, way down towards the bottom, it goes: Trump because of policy (this will get me in trouble with my family) > Harris > Warren, Bernie etc.
Pretty clear that democrats could own this election and bring the country back to sanity just by holding an open convention, and electing someone with reasonable policy who isn’t so divisive.
Another opinion that will get me in trouble is that: steamrolling a candidate for a major party electorate that no one voted for and incredibly unpopular except with an extreme left is almost as bad, if not of equal consequence as Jan 6th. Almost no one agrees with this opinion, democrats have no issue with it because they’re so anti-trump that they’re willing to give up their democratic values, and hardcore republicans think the election was stolen (it wasn’t - we hold fair elections in the US).
Feels like being in the middle just means you get to argue with everyone.
